An excellent weekend for Knaresborough Celtics u12s teams with both winning well and continuing some good recent form. The Greens who play in Division A beat Wetherby 7-0 with hat-tricks from the League’s leading goalscorer Ryan Edmondson and also for Matthew Creasey. Ben Powell scored the other goal, with Ryan Lever, Tom Colley, James Keal and keeper Seb Christie all putting in great performances. The win keeps the Greens in second place behind leaders Ilkley.
The Whites who play in Division B had a comfortable victory over Leeds Macabbi winning 3-1 despite going a goal down. A double from Jack Lister and a well taken volley from a corner by Adam Latimer capped a great team performance epitomised by the battling Jonny Sadler marshalling the defence superbly and the non-stop running of Dan Howard and Jack Finlayson in the centre of the park. The win continues the Whites steady move up the league and they now lie 4th, with games in hand over the team above them. Both games saw some great teamwork and were a credit to the hard work the lads have put in at training over the winter.
