Knaresborough Celtic FC

Knaresborough Celtic Junior Football Club is a community club, which exists to provide a safe and fun environment for children of all ages from Knaresborough and the surrounding villages to learn and participate in organised football. Founded in 1995, we operate on a completely voluntary basis and are run by enthusiastic parents. Our core values are to ensure that the social aspects of team sports are highlighted as much as the technical elements of football and that football is an inclusive game appropriate for all children. Image above shows the new club house at the Thistle Hill site. We have an established infrastructure in place to ensure continuity through all age groups and we run teams in organised Leagues from Under-8 through to Under-17 inclusively. We also have a Nursery section which provides coaching for children from as young as four years old before graduation to the Under-8's. In addition, we have Girls teams from Age 10 through to 16.	Furthermore, we also have a senior team in the Harrogate and District Saturday league. All age groups are run by Team Managers and Assistant Managers who have attended and passed the appropriate FA Qualification requirements. This includes not just coaching but also First Aid and Child Protection courses. Additionally, all age groups have a Parents Representative and anyone connected with the club - players (and their parents), coaches, league officials - are required to adhere to a published Code of Conduct.

Knaresborough Celtic FC actively contributes to the community through a variety of activities, not least of all our Schools Liaison Programme, in which we have guided all local primary schools to FA Charter School accreditation and run several competitions on both a season-wide and one-off basis.

Under 16 cdouble success
The Under 16s are toasting success after lifting the league and cup trophies. The final match against Lawnswood saw Celtic seal a 3–0 victory to round of a tremedous season. It was a fitting end to the season for Lewis Chadderton and Danny Wakeham who both played their last games for the club before emigrating. The club congratulates all players, coaches and parents on a wonderful season

Under 13 Girls do the double
The under 13 girls have completed a highly successful season winning the league and cup double. A remarkable succes the club congratulates all players coaches and parents involved.

Under 15s make it three doubles for the club
The Under 15s have sealed the league and cup double after a 3–0 victory against Kirk Deighton. The team completed a remarkable season having won all 19 competitive matches to seal the double in style. The club would like to congratulate all players, parents and coaches on a remarkable achievement.

FoneAid

The Club has registered with FONEAID and we receive cash for old mobile phones.

I am sure many of you will have upgraded your phone at Christmas or will have old phones lying around in a drawer somewhere so why not hand us your old phone and help raise funds for Knaresborough Celtic.

KCFC Boot Bank
The Knaresborough Celtic boot bank is up and running with plenty of boots available! We all know the cost of buying new boots is high, so rather than buy new and throw away the old ones, recycle via the KCFC boot bank. The boots are not for sale but all donations (the going rate seems to be £5) are accepted. If you would like to to enquire about available stock or donate old boots please visit the Thistle Hill cafe where the vast array of stock is on show.

The club is now able to offer you, your family & friends a lottery scheme that gives you the chance to win up to £3000.00 each and every week!

At the same time, help towards funding for the maintenance of our new Thistle Hill pitch & clubhouse facilities. This lottery is open to members, members families & friends.

Knaresborough Celtic are always looking for new players at every age group. As the areas leading community football club we are proud of the standards we offer young footballers. With Thistle Hill due to open in 2010 the club continues to set the standard for coaching, facilities and fun!
